Chart of the Day
The tokenized Real-World Asset (RWA) market has continued its steady growth despite the broader crypto downturn. According to a Binance report, the market surged 144% to $62.7 billion, up from nearly nothing in 2019. This rise reflects growing institutional confidence and expanding real-world use cases. A key driver has been shifting US regulations following Donald Trump’s election, with expectations of reduced red tape and clearer guidelines, further boosting institutional interest in RWA tokenization.

Education - “What Are Real-World Assets (RWAs) and How Do They Differ from Cryptocurrencies?”
Without a doubt, one of the most talked-about narratives of 2024 was the meme coin boom. Meme coins, or altcoins (cryptocurrencies that are not Bitcoin), named after trends, humour, or pop culture, emerged as the most profitable sector of the year, averaging returns of over 2,400%.
However, this highly speculative sector is notoriously associated with fraud, market manipulation, and erratic price swings. According to BDC, “roughly 40% of projects are pump-and-dump schemes, and an additional 30% are outright ‘rug pulls’—crypto speak for when coin creators simply take the money and run.”
But that’s changing. A growing investor shift away from speculative assets is fuelling the rise of Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenization.

Unlike meme coins, which lack intrinsic value, RWA tokens are backed by real assets, including infrastructure, real estate, commodities, equities, bonds, and intellectual property.
Tokenization is the process of digitising assets on a blockchain, turning ownership into tradeable tokens. The key benefit? Traditionally exclusive asset classes become more accessible, with greater liquidity and transparency. Not to mention, at a fraction of the cost.
Bringing off-chain assets into the digital realm creates a more liquid, transparent, and secure financial system, reducing systemic risks and minimising conflicts of interest.
While tokenization has been discussed for years, 2025 marks a turning point—moving from theory to real-world applications and regulatory frameworks.
Today, major financial institutions—including BlackRock, Fidelity, BNY Mellon, J.P. Morgan, and Goldman Sachs—are actively using tokenization to enhance liquidity, accessibility, and reduce costs.
A $10 Trillion Opportunity
RWA tokens are a game changer. They give regular investors access to traditionally institutional-only assets, without breaking the bank and the high barriers. The potential is staggering. Leading financial institutions predict the RWA tokenization market will surpass $10 trillion by the end of the decade—a transformation that could redefine global finance.
